Australia beats Pakistan 6-0 in Azlan Shah Cup match

Australia beat Pakistan 6-0 in a one-sided contest of the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup at IPOH in Malaysia on Sunday.

Australia got off to a flying start, scoring three goals in the opening 17 minutes of the match. The first goal was scored in the 8th minute when Daniel Mirecki picked up a loose ball in a semi-circle to smash it home with the Pakistan defenders caught flat footed.
In the very next minute, Matt Ghodes placed the ball into the corner of the Pakistani goal.
Australia scored their third in the 17th minute and the fourth a minute before the halftime.
The last two goals were scored using penalty corners in the 45th and 61st minute respectively.
On Saturday, Pakistan had beaten New Zealand 4-3 in the opening game.
