Army dominate Korean Taekwondo Championship

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Army dominated the opening day of the 8th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship, here on Sunday at Liaquat Gymnasium.
The event is organised under the aegis of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation in collaboration with Pakistan Navy and Islamabad Taekwondo Association.  
Lt Col Waseem Ahmed, Secretary General PTF welcomed the visiting teams with Iftikhar Ahmed Tabassum President PTF, Syed Amir Hamza Gillani and Dr M Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera of PSB, Col Qaiser Mustafa Deputy Director Army Sports, Capt Ansar Mahmood, Director Navy, Saba Shamim Akhtar executive member POA were also present on the occasion.
In the individual Female category 14-20 years, Maham Aftab of Army stood first, Sophia of Railway secured second spot, and Tayyaba Khan of Wapda secured third spot. In the individual female category 21-30 years, Mehar-un-Nisa of Army (first), Ume Kalsoom of Railway (second) and Sumeria Fayyaz of Wapda got third spot.
In the team women category, Army team comprising Mehar-un-Nisa, Maham Aftab and Radika Jan secured first position while Samra, Tayyaba and Sumaira (Wapda) got second spot and Urooj Zia, Leena and Tayyaba (Punjab) took third spot.    
In the individual Male category 14-20 years, Shahbaz Ali, Army secured first position, Rashid Mehmood of Punjab second; Azeem of Wapda secured third spot.
In the Individual male category 21-30 years, Irshad Ali (Army) first, Yasir (Railway) second and Razzaq Khan (KP) placed third.
In the individual male category 30-40 years, Arif Manzoor, (Army), Altaf Aziz, (Railway) and Asif, KP got first, second and third positions respectively.
In the individual male category 41-50 years, Ramzan (Railway), first, Shabbir Adil (Police) second and Khalid Saeed (Wapda) was third.
In the men team category no age limit, Army Irshad, Abbas and Imran (Army) took first spot while Raza, Asif and Yasir of KP got second position and Azeem, Naeem and Asif (Wapda) grabbed third position.
Real Admiral Shah Sohail Masood, commander North Navy, SI Military was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the players and teams.
