Talking to TheNation on Tuesday, Fazal said: "The boys had done the entire country proud by beating the much superior Lebanon side.
"It was never easy when you play against a host nation at the clay courts, completely different from the one which our players are used to," he added.
Subhan praised Aqeel Khan, who made Pakistan's victory possible by winning his crucial singles tie against Lebanon No 1 player in straight sets.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) SVP Col (r) Asif Dar said that Pakistan Davis Cup team had done well and it was a well-deserving victory for them.
"They have proved that they are good enough to beat some good teams and they also took revenge of their last year’s defeat at the hand of Lebanon. I hope they will continue this form and will win against Philippines as well and will qualify for the Group II final," Dar added.
Talking about Aqeel's performance in the event, he said: "Aqeel is now a mature player and mostly helps the Pakistan team in crucial times and in this tie, he steered team to a crucial victory over Lebanon. He is more confident now and he can also help the team to qualify for final of Group II with the assistance of tennis ace Aisamul Haq,” Dar concluded.
APP adds: Pakistan's victory in a Davis Cup tie has proved yet again that the country has talent in tennis and our players can compete in this sport at any given opportunity, said Chairperson Subh-e-Nau Mrs Shahida Kausar Farooq, after Pakistan Davis Cup team's exciting 3-2 win over Lebanon in Beirut on Sunday.
Greeting the Pakistan team, Mrs Farooq said that it was a great sign that our players are performing at such a level despite lack of world class facilities and competitions.
She was very happy to see Aqeel Khan performing so well at the top level as he is a true example of a grassroots level player.
