Sri Lanka declared at 520-8 in its first innings against India at tea on day three of the first test on Tuesday. Tailenders Rangana Herath and Lasith Malinga scored their maiden test half-centuries. Malinga made 64 off 75 balls, hitting nine boundaries and two sixes before being dismissed. Herath was unbeaten on 80 with Muttiah Muralitharan on 5 in his final test. Tharanga Paranavitana topscored for Sri Lanka with 111, while captain Kumar Sangakkara made 103.
