DUBAI – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf has approved Shahid Afridi name to lead national team in the Asia Cup, to be started from March 1 in Bangladesh, a local TV channel reported here on Monday.
Most of the senior players will miss the Asia Cup and new faces will be inducted in the team for the preparations of Twenty20 World Cup and 2015 World Cup, he added.
He also showed his dissent over the performance of Pakistan team in the one-day series and criticised the selectors for naming a weak team for this format of the game and ordered them to select different teams for all the formats separately in future.
