Hasan Raza leads Sindh Dolphins to thrilling victory

CHI Timely dashing unbeaten knock of 78 from Hasan Raza gave Sindh Dolphins thrilling three wickets victory on last ball against Balochistan Bears here on Tuesday night in the RBS Pentangular One Day Cricket cup here at the National Stadium.
Baluchiustan bears posted 303 for eight and Karachi replied with 307 for seven.
Faced by daunting target of 300 plus to win, Sindh Dolphins launched merciless attack in opponents bowling and grabbed the target on the last ball of 50-overs a-side day and night match. Young Shahzaib Hasan who missed berth in Pakistan ICC World T20 team by a whisker, hit a blistering 62 in 49 ball hitting five fours and four sixes.
He laid the winning foundation for his team. His knock encouraged other teammates to go after opponents bowling. Khurram Manzoors 45, Safaraz Ahmed 41 and Lal Kumar 27 made good contribution.
But it was Hasan Razas unbeaten 78 that finally provided winning runs to the Sindh team.
Earlier, Balochistan assisted by Taufiq Umars 74 in 92 balls, Abid Ali 94 in 106 balls and an unbeaten 52 from Rameez Alam boosted teams total to high 303 for eight. Danish Kaneria took two for 46, and Tanvir Ahmed 2 for 62. Anwar Ali finished with three for 72.
It was Shahzaib Hasans batting heroics that helped the winners to go after high winning target.

On Monday night in the opening fixture of the championship Nasir Jamsheds fiery century went in vain for Punjab Stallions which lost to Federal Area leopards by 24 runs. Nasir Jamshed hammered a 90 ball hundred but still his team Punjab Stallions ended as losers.
Sent into bat, Federal Areas Leopards posted strong 245 in 49.5 overs and later bowled the opponents out for 221 in 43.5 overs.
Nasir Jamshed slammed seven fours and a six in his innings which was the highlight of one sided match.
The main attraction of the match was appearance of pacer Shoaib Akhtar who was playing for Federal Area Leopards. Shoaib Akhtar, who is in wilderness for last two years for a number of reasons including fitness, took two wickets for 45. He was upstaged by his teammate Yasim Murtaza who returned with three for 42.
Umar Amin of FA Leopards top scored for his team with 55 made in 763 balls with the aid of five fours. Naeem Anjum 44 in 48 balls and Imad Wasim 41 in 24 ball were other prominent run getter.
Abdul Rehman who received the call to play in ICC World T20 just 24 hours ago celebrated the invitation to play for Pakistan in the Caribbean with two for 46.
