KPT makes 114 sportsmen permanent employees

KARACHI - As many as 114 sportsmen who were working on daily wages or on contract in Karachi Port Trust (KPT) since 1993 have been given permanent employment and fresh appointment letters were issued to them here on Friday.
According to a news release of the KPT issued here under the instructions of Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Babar Khan Ghauri, 38 footballers, 18 boxers, 29 cricketers, eight hockey players, four badminton players and other athletes, who have represented KPT at various levels, have received letters from Rear Admiral Azhar Hayat during a ceremony held here at the KPT head office. Chairman KPT Muhammad Aslam Hayat gave away appointment letters to 114 sportsmen to upgrade their employment to permanent cadre in KPT. Aslam personally handed over the appointment to six players who held national colours in cricket snooker and football. These players are Khurram Hussain Agha, Adeel Malik, Junaid Qadir, Muhammad Hussain, Ahmed Iqbal and Behram Khan.
