LAHORE – Pakistani disabled athlete Naeem Masih, who has been selected to represent Pakistan in Paralympics London Olympics 2012, has neither coach facility provided by the POA nor has any financial assistance to prepare well for the upcoming mega event starting from August 29.

Naeem, who belongs to a poor family of Kasur, is participating in any international event for the first time and committed to perform well and wants to earn laurels for the country. He will appear in the 800m, 1500 and long jump events of the mega event.
He said that he appeared in the recently held Sports Festival in the normal category and won medal at Tehsil level. He was given only Rs 2000 by Sports Board Punjab here at the Punjab Stadium.
He said he did not about what special food is required while doing exercise and preparing for mega event but he used milk and normal food to make him ready for the event. He was not financially too strong to meet the expenses of his food as well as affording a coach and he was preparing for the Paralympics Olympics on his own.
The determined young athlete has urged CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, who is not only very active to encourage our youth and want their promotion and to resolve their problems through his Youth Policy, to provide him financial assistance so that he may not only prepare well for the Paralympics London Olympics 2012 but also bear the expenses of his studies and game as he doesn’t want to be burden for his family. He also urged Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) president Gen (retd) Arif Hassan to provide him coach which would surely help him in raising his morale as well as encourage him to win laurels for the country.
