Wapda win National Karate C’ship

PESHAWAR - Pakistan Wapda clinched the trophy of the 21st National Karate Championship by winning nine gold medals with 205 points in eight different categories here at Lala Rafique Sports Arena on Sunday.
Senior Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bashir Ahmad Bilour was the chief guest pm the occasion. Wapda made a clean sweep by winning nine gold medals out of 10 different categories. They attain gold in below 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 67kg, 75kg, 84kg, above 84kg, individual kata, team kata and team kumite. Pakistan Army placed second with 90 points and just one gold medal in above 84kg, four silver medals and three bronze medals while Sindh got two silver medals and six bronze medals and took 80 points.
Punjab remained at fourth with two silver and two bronze medal with 30 points, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won two bronze medal with 30 points, Balochistan took sixth position with one silver and three bronze medal and secured 25 points, Police remained at 7th with three bronze medal and got 25 points, FATA won one bronze medal with five points, while Islamabad struggled at ninth position with no points and medals.
