LAHORE – Rooney United Faisalabad outplayed Carrick United Karachi after an exhilarating 90-minute game of soccer and was crowned Zong United Kickoff Football Tournament Champion here at Punjab Stadium.
Both the teams played well as the match went into overtime and still failed to produce any result and the score was 0-0. The teams were then given five penalty kicks each where still a result could not be achieved and was leveled by 4-4. Then the match went into a sudden death situation, where the Carrick United goalkeeper provided Rooney United the fitting victory.
Zong have teamed up with MUSS to offer 32 lucky winners the chance to participate in a five-day programme at their state of the art facility in Abu Dhabi, which will include a series of fun and challenging coaching sessions focusing on a variety of different technical areas such as dribbling, short passing, turning and finishing.
Zong Executive Director Commercial Usman Ishaq after the match announced that all 16 members of the Carrick United Karachi team would also be going to Abu Dhabi with the winning team Rooney United team.
Speaking at the award distribution ceremony, CFO Zong Feng Tuixian congratulated both the finalist teams and assured his all-out support to boost the game across the country.
