LAHORE - Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has been cleared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Integrity Committee, it is leant here on Friday.
Apart from Akmal, Wahab Riaz and Imran Nazir have also been included in the list of 30 players and will be expecting to make their comeback in the national squad. Shakeel Ansar and Sarafaz Ahmed are the other two wicketkeepers whose names have been included. According to sources, Akmal may make his return to the national side prior to the T20 World Cup. He is also expected to be part of the T20 squad during the series against Australia. PCB chief selector Iqbal Qasim said that he had not received any official notification of Akmal’s clearance. Akmal last played for Pakistan in September 2010 and has appeared in 53 Tests and 137 ODIs.
