PESHAWAR A meeting of the Inter Public Service Commissions was held in the conference room of the office of Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Saturday. It is worth mentioning here that such meetings are arranged by each of the Public Service Commissions successfully on regular basis wherein the issues faced by the Public Service Commissions are discussed, debated upon and ways and means for resolving thereof are sought. Mutual experiences are shared for bringing improvement in the working of respective commissions. In the meeting, it was decided that the Higher Education Commission has stopped conversion of marks/ grades/ divisions of degrees awarded by the foreign universities into Pakistani education system. Moreover, the conversion of CGPA into percentage of marks/ division has also been stopped by the HEC in 2008. These things are required to the commission, which give weight to the academic marks. It was decided that the Chairman Federal Public Service Commission would hold a meeting with Chairman HEC to resolve the issues. It was further decided that all the commissions would use IT base techniques for speedily processing the recruitment cases. The Federal and Public Service Commission, who have already experienced such techniques, have offered to other commissions their software and expertise, if required. The Chairman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PSC informed the meetings about the reforms being taken and the projects approved by the provincial government for computerization of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PSC. It was also decided that the candidates should be facilitated and be informed of the fate of their application, whether it is accepted or rejected. In hardship cases, candidates should be given relief in case-to-case basis. Later on, the Chairman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PSC distributed shields among the participants of the meeting and hosted a luncheon in their honour.
