WASHINGTON - The United States Tuesday offered no comments on Pakistan Supreme Court's decision to restore PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif as chief minister of Punjab, saying it was the country's internal matter. I see this as a matter for the Pakistani court system and Pakistani people to decide. State Department Deputy Spokesman Gordon Duguid said in response to a question at the regular news briefing. Answering questions on Monday's terrorist attack in Lahore, the spokesman underscored the threat facing Pakistan. First I would like to extend our condolences to the families of those who were killed, our sympathies are with those who were wounded in this terrorist attack. I do believe it does show that opposition to a peaceful and democratic Pakistan exists, that those forces are the enemies of the people and the government of Pakistan, just as they have proven to be the enemies of peaceful democratic government in Afghanistan, he added.
