Most of the shops were closed in the country markets on Sunday as usual in contravention to the new government policy of power conservation. It is pertinent to mention that the government apart of other power conservation steps has decided to change the weekly off day of markets from Sunday to Friday. Most of the shops of the federal capital's Super Market, Jinnah Super Market and Aabpara markets were remained closed as per routine on the first day of the implementation of the power conservation policy. The shopkeepers said they would not comply the government's decision about change in the weekly off day and early closure of shops in night. in the other cities of the country mostly shops close on the first day of power conservation.
