ISLAMABAD The National Assembly session on Monday was adjourned after offering fateha for the ex president of Pakistan Farooq Lighari who was also a member of the Lower House. Chief whip of PM-Q Riaz Hussain Pirzada, while lauding the role of late Farooq Leghari, offered fateha after which the Speaker National Assembly adjourned the proceedings of the House till Tuesday (today). PML-Q has submitted 11 adjournment motions in the National Assembly Secretariat for the current session. MNA Faisal Saleh Hayat, MNA Marvi Memon, MNA Amir Muqam, MNA Bushra Rehman, and MNA Humayun Saifullah are among the movers. The adjournment motions were moved to discuss the output of the Pak-US Strategic Dialogue, relations with USA, economic and military interventions of US in Pakistani ministries and villages and other issues. APP adds: An adjournment motion was moved on Monday in the National Assembly against the recent increase in prices of the petroleum products, requesting to withhold the routine proceedings of the Lower House to discuss the issue of public importance. MNAs Mrs Nisar Tanveer, Muhammad Haneef Abbasi, Raja Muhammad Asad Khan, Nighat Parveen Mir and Raja Mehmood-ul-Hassan moved the motion. They said Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority had increased the prices upto nine per cent, which would cause more inflation and make life of the common man miserable. They were of the view the rates of daily use items would further shoot up with the hike in petroleum and electricity prices.
