PPP to name own CM after quitting Punjab coalition

LAHORE - After PML-N's separation from the coalition and appointing its presidential candidate, Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddqui, against PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, gulf between the two parties has widened. Although, Zardari had announced to overcome the differences, but some leaders in PPP were of the opinion that PPP should teach a lesson to PML-N for its inflexible behaviour. According to sources, after being convinced, Zardari is ready to appoint its own Chief Minister after separation from the coalition government in Punjab. PPP had also contacted PML-Q in this regard and Governor Punjab Salman Taseer and PPP leader Qasim Zia had played a significant role in making these connections. On the other hand, PML-Q leadership, especially the Chaudhries, after getting annoyed with the arrogant behaviour of Sharifs, have decided to get their share in Punjab government. Sources said that up till now, former CM Chaudhry Pervez Elahi have had meetings with the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani as well as with Governor of the Punjab. They said that PPP had offered PML-Q that a senior minister and eight provincial ministers as well as the chairman of standing committees and parliamentary secretary would be taken from PML-Q The sources said that PML-Q had made it clear on the PPP that they would answer about their offer after the presidential election on September 6.
