In occupied Kashmir, people staged protest demonstrations against the arrest of an innocent youth of Lal Bazar area of Srinagar by Indian police. According to Kashmir Media Service, residents of Zaina Kadal, Fateh Kadal, Karfali Mohalla, Urdu Bazaar and Lal Bazaar staged demonstrations outside the Zaina Kadal police station to protest the framing of the youth, Umair Zargar, by the police in a false case. They demanded immediate release of the youth. Umair's father, Ghulam Nabi Zargar, who is a gold smith, said that the police and troops who raided their house ran away with their Rs 10 lakh. On the other hand, anti-India demonstrations, marked by complete shutdown, were also held in Sopore town. Indian police personnel and troops resorted to heavy baton charge and excessive teargas shelling to disperse the demonstrators. People raised anti-India and pro-liberation slogans. Meanwhile, two minor brothers were critically injured in an explosion in Dhar area of Doda.
