Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani left here for Afghanistan on a two-day official visit on Saturday. Federal Trade Minister Amin Fahim, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Railway Minister Ghulam Bilour also accompanied the PM on his visit. During his stay in the Afghan capital, the Prime Minister will meet Afghan President Hamid Karzai, vice president and other members of the senior leadership. Earlier talking to reporters prior his departure at Chaklala airport, Prime Minister Gilani said his visit to Kabul aimed at strengthening relations between the two neighbouring countries in various spheres. He said Pakistan and Afghanistan enjoyed historical and cultural ties, adding that multi-faceted cooperation would widen the scope of their ties. He mentioned that Pakistan and Afghanistans bilateral trade continued well under the agreement which was also ratified by the Cabinet, and said Pakistan wanted to enhance trade relations with Afghanistan. Gilani reiterated that a strong and stable Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan, and said the government would continue making efforts to provide support to Afghanistan in attaining stability. The prime minister was seen off at PAF Base Chaklala by federal ministers.
