Kashmir dispute needed to be resolved through peaceful means: Mirwaiz

In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani have said that the Kashmir dispute is not a matter of employment and development but it is an issue pertaining to the future of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. According to KMS, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq talking to a delegation of Indian parliamentarians and civil society members, which met him at his residence in Srinagar maintained that Kashmir was a political dispute which needed to be resolved through peaceful means. He said, the APHC wants a settlement of the dispute acceptable to Pakistan, India and the people of Kashmir. Syed Ali Gilani in his meeting with the delegation at his residence said that the Kashmiris had been rendering sacrifices to secure their inalienable right to self-determination promised to them by Indian rulers and the world community. He reiterated his demand that India should accept the disputed status of Kashmir, withdraw its troops, repeal draconian laws, release illegally detained Kashmiris and bring the troops involved in the killing of innocent youth during the past six months to justice. The Indian delegation included Ram Vilas Paswan, Seema Mustafa, Professor Kamal Chenoy, Shahid Siddiqui and Mahesh Bhatt.
