ISLAMABAD - Coalition partners, more than the opposition parties, are all set to grill the ruling PPP over a host of burning issues ranging from the Blackwater to the Kerry-Lugar Bill in the Parliament today. The Senate is already in session and the National Assembly is opening its 16th session today. The two Houses are most likely to witness heated debates on stock of domestic as well as international issues confronting the government. According to sources, the government intends to table new Accountability Bill. At the same time the main opposition party, PML-N, is determined to resist the bill by all means as it has already stated that the bill did not ensure across the board accountability. The sources in the National Assembly Secretariat have told TheNation that the PML-N has already submitted an adjournment motion on the reported statement of President Asif Ali Zardari regarding safe exit to former President Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf. Meanwhile, the sources said, former ruling party, PML-Q, has also finalized an adjournment motion seeking debate on the issue of Blackwater, the private security agency of the US. The PML-Q would also continue its debate with the government over alleged bribes in the Rental Power Projects (RPP) and the overall electricity crisis issue. Political sources have told TheNation that some of the coalition partners are to join hands with the Opposition in critique over the Kerry-Lugar Bill, which they fear would undermine the countrys sovereignty. The critics of the bill have already pointed out that it is meant for getting access to the highly classified nuclear assets of the country.
