Fazl blames America for problems in region

ISLAMABAD (Online) - JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday claimed that the United States wanted to build a mini-Pentagon in Pakistan and said the US presence in the region was a major cause of problems facing the country. America has acknowledged that it has lost war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Therefore, it is now increasing its influence in Pakistan and is out to build mini-Pentagon in our country. However, 21st century is the century of knowledge and wisdom and no country can be occupied through use of force, Fazlur Rehman said while talking to media men after inquiring about the health of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi. Condemning the attempt on the live of Kazmi as a dastardly act, he said attacks on religious leaders were aimed at fuelling sectarian hatred. Afghan war was leaving direct impacts on Pakistan, he remarked, warning that the country was heading from one crisis to another. We want to see the country moving forward under an independent foreign policy. But we cannot formulate any policy according to our own will, he regretted. He said China was Pakistans real friend in the whole region.
