6 die in Sibi, Nasirabad bomb blasts

QUETTA  - Four people were killed and five wounded when a bomb attached to a bicycle exploded in a bazaar in Sibi, while two others died in a road roadside blast in Nasirabad on Wednesday. "It was a remote controlled bomb fixed to a bicycle in the main bazaar of Sibi. Four people were killed and five wounded, three seriously," local police officer Mohammad Hussain told AFP. Three of the victims were from a pro-government tribe and one was a passer-by," he said. "It appears the bombing was a targeted attack. We are investigating if the victims had any rivalry with the bombers," he said. Meanwhile, a roadside bomb killed two people and wounded five others in Nasirabad. Local police chief Mohammed Hussain said the attack happened outside a market in Nasirabad. Separately one person was injured on Wednesday when a hand grenade exploded at a stall in Quetta which was selling flags for the independence day on August 14, police said. Another small blast near a road bridge on the outskirts of Quetta on Wednesday caused no casualties, said police. Meanwhile, unknown felons fired a rocket in Kohlu on Wednesday. According to details, some unknown miscreants fired a rocket in Kohlu that fell in a deserted place and exploded. However, there was no report of any loss. Police registered a case and started investigation. Meanwhile, an explosive device planted by unknown miscreants has damaged the boundary wall of a house in Khrotabad area of the provincial capital during the wee hours of Wednesday morning, police official Shaaban Ali said. "A pipeline supplying gas to various parts of the city was the target of the blast", the official said, adding that the pipeline received a minor damage. A case was registered against unknown miscreants.
