Old enmity leaves 15 dead in Gujrat

GUJRAT (Online) - At least 15 people were killed Saturday in an exchange of fire between two groups in Sarya, a village of Gujrat. According to a private TV channel, the two groups belonging to village Tatrali of District Gujrat had old enmity and exchange of fire left 15 people dead on Saturday night. The deceased include Ishtiaq Anwar, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Farooq, Waqar Ahmed, Fida Hussain and his brother Mati Ullah, Raja Muhammad and his two young sons, Qamar Shahzad, Sajjad Akram, Muhammad Akbar, Muhammad Yasir, Tahir and one unidentified person. After the incident, DPO Gujrat Tariq Abbas reached the spot. The bodies were shifted to Kharian for post-mortem. Police have started a search operation to arrest the murderers. It is pertinent to mention here that several members of these groups were proclaimed offenders.
