MIANWALI (Online) - As many as 27 students drowned when a school coach fell into a canal in Wan Bachhran, a rural area of Mianwali. According to details, a school coach was carrying almost 30 students of a local school Ashraf Model School. When the ill-fated vehicle (CH-7563) reached near Muhajir Barrage it veered off the road while taking a sharp turn and fell into the canal. Patrolling Police officials rushed the spot but could save only 3 kids of whom one 18-year-old girl died in the hospital and two students Khadija and Atif survived. According to authorities, the accident occurred due to the negligence of the driver Imran, who was also drowned. Some 7 bodies had been recovered so far and the divers were searching for rest of the 20 bodies. Some eyewitnesses expressed the fear that the bodies could have been swept away due to the fast flow of water.
