Hundreds of acres of crops came under water after a 150-ft wide breach occurred in Ghotki Feeder on late Sunday night. According to police the breach emerged in Ghotki Feeder near Khambrra area, tehsil Obarro on late Sunday night which widened to 150-ft within few minutes. The water spread over hundreds of acres of agricultural land cultivated with cotton and rice crops thus adversely affecting the crops. Water also entered village Qabool Bharoun while highway connecting Guddu, Sadiqabad and Obarro also came underwater suspending the land connection. People of the area said that despite being informed timely irrigation department officials arrived after five hours and people had to suffer a lot. The Gates of Guddu Barrage supplying water to Ghotki Feeder were closed and work to fill the breach was initiated.
