ISLAMABAD One soldier was martyred while security forces apprehended 12 suspected terrorists in South Waziristan and Swat-Malakand region during the past 24 hours, ISPR reported on Friday. According to details, security forces conducted clearance operation around Tip Sar and Trikhi Kaburai near Gani Khel in Shakai sector. Terrorists fired with small arms at security forces near Mazakai, Ghundi Gar and Pungai, Gani Khel and Sinetiza, resultantly 1 soldier embraced martyrdom. The security forces also conducted search and clearance operation at Tank in Jandola sector and apprehended 2 suspected terrorists and recovered cache of arms and ammunition. Similarly, security forces conducted search and clearance operation at Pira Khel near Mir Khoni in Razmak sector and cleared 20 compounds and recovered cache of arms and ammunition. Terrorists fired with small arms at security forces near Spina Mela, which was effectively responded to. A total of 28,506 Cash Cards have been issued to displaced families of Waziristan, while 9,164 tons of rations have so far been distributed amongst the displaced families. Meanwhile in the Swat-Malakand region, the security forces conducted search and clearance operation at Khawazakhela and Manglour Bridge, Allahaba, Dakorak, Kot, Tangai Chena (Charbagh), Bari Kot and Sherkhana and apprehended 10 suspected terrorists along with arms and ammunition. 4 terrorists surrendered themselves to security forces at Waliabad, Gokhela and Bhai Kalle.
