SHC orders FIA action against Mush

KARACHI - The Sindh High Court on Tuesday disposed of a petition seeking initiation of treason case against former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf, and issued directive to the interior ministry and the FIA to initiate legal action against him. A division bench comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Imam Bux Baloch passed the verdict on a constitutional petition filed by Syed Ataullah Shah Bukhari to launch a treason case against Musharraf for his steps on November 03, 2007. Deputy Attorney General Mian Muhammad Khan appeared before the court and submitted that the legal proceedings would be initiated against the former president if the charges against him proved. The DAG contended that initially the petitioner had to approach the Islamabad police to launch a complaint against the respondent, but he did not do the same. The court, after hearing the arguments from both the sides, disposed of the petition with the directives.
