Reshuffling in cabinet expected: Gilani

Prime Minister Gilani has stated that there would be some changes in the cabinet once the NRO issue is resolved. Addressing a gathering on the occasion of World Human Rights Day, PM said that Pakistan today joins the world community in observing the International Human Rights Day. It shows that the world is committed to the protection of dignity and respect of the people. Highlighting the religious perpective of this day, the PM said that in our society, human rights are guided by Islam, Islam is a religion of peace and equality that focuses on a society which transcends caste, color, creed, which further reaffirms the Islamic culture. He also stated that the constitution of Pakistan and the UN Human Rights Declaration are synonymous in their goal of elimination of poverty and injustice and create a balance between the rights of all individuals globally. Mr. Gilani promoted equality and tolerance among human beings, and stressed on the need to refresh the promise of taking human rights to a greater level of human obligation. He told that the PPP government is aimed to providing a crucial framework to safeguard life and property of everyone. He said that the government ensures political, economic and cultural rights.
