LAHORE - The nation is all set to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) in a befitting manner throughout Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir on Tuesday (today). The public buildings have been profusely illuminated while the bazaars and houses are lit with light and decorated with buntings. Welcome banners are displayed on all the City roads and crossings. Milad meetings were organised at mosques, parks and public places during the night on Monday while the day will be humming with Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebrations in which processions will be taken out from cities, towns and villages in the morning. It will be a public holiday and all government, semi government organisations, educational institutions, commercial centres, markets and bazaars will remain closed. Newspapers will bring out special supplements while TV and radio channels will air special programmes on the day. The day will dawn in the federal cabinet with 31-gun salute and in provincial capitals and Muzaffarbad with 21 gun salutes. Special prayers will be offered in the mosques after fajr prayers for the solidarity and integrity of the country, progress of the nation and peace in the country. Central Seerat conference and exhibitions of seerat books will be held at the federal capital while provincial Seerat conferences were held in the provincial metropolis on Monday. In Lahore, the main Milad procession will be brought out from Railway Station at 9 am. At least 100 processions from the nine zones of the City will join the main procession. President Markazi Committee Milad-un-Nabi Taqreebat Alhaj Malik Aftab Rubbani and Mian Ijaz Momin Ji in a statement said that 1010 gun salute will be given at the opening of the procession. A contingent of disciplined forces will hold a march past. The procession will travel from Australasia chowk, Brandreth Road, Dil Mohammad Road, Fleming Road, Nisbet Road, Akhbar market, Aibak Road, Mochi Gate, Lohari Gate and will terminate at Darbar Data sahib in the evening. The other main procession will be brought out from Milad chowk, outside the Dehli Gate. Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman and others will lead the procession. It will travel on its traditional route from Rang Mahal, Shahalam market, Soha Bazaar, Paniwala Talab, Tehsil Bazaar, Bhati Gate and to terminate at Darbar Data Sahib in the evening A torch bearing procession will be brought out from Hizbun Ihnaf and Data Darbar to Regal Chowk on Monday evening. Syed Mukhtar Ashraf Rizvi will lead the procession. An nnternational Milad conference was held under the aegis of Minhajul Quran movement at Minar-e-Pakistan on Monday. Prof. Dr Mohammad Tahir ul Qadri and other eminent ulema addressed. Dawat-e-Islamo also organised a seerat conference at Baba Ground, Islampura. Tanzeem-e-Islami Lahore will organize a seerat conference at Alhamra Halll No 1 on Tuesday (today) at 10 30 am. Amir-e-Tanzim Hafiz Aakif Saeed and founder of the Tanzim Dr Israr Ahmad will address.
