ISLAMABAD - Parliamentary committee on judge appointment gave approval to the recommendations of the Judicial Commission on regularisation of the services of additional judges and appointment of fresh judges in the high courts. According to the details, after the approval to the recommendations of the Judicial Commission by the committee, the services of some 15 additional judges of Lahore High Court, four additional judges of Balochistan High Court were regularised while fresh appointment of additional judges in both these high courts was also okayed. The committee met here under the chair of Senator Nayyar Bokhari with all the six sitting members including Ch Shujaat Hussain, Ms Asma Arbab Alamgir, Aftab Shahban Merani, Ishaq Dar and Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbassi in attendance. Additional Attorney General (AAG) KK Agha gave detailed briefing to the committee on the constitutional objections raised by PML-N regarding the change in the composition of the committee following the Q-League joined the coalition government.
