LHC ex-judge to contest Mumtaz Qadri death conviction in IHC

Former chief justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Khawaja Muhammad Sharif, will appear before Islamabad High Court (IHC) to defend and challenge the death conviction handed down by the Anti-Terrorism Court to Mumtaz Qadri in late governor Punjab Salman Taseer murder case. Pindi District Bar President Malik Jawad Khalid said Khawaja Sharif has filed his relevant documents to contest Qadri's death sentence in the federal high court. A two-member divisional bench comprising IHC Chief Justice Iqbal Hamid ur Rehman and Justice Riaz Ahmed will formally start hearing of Qadri's plea on Tuesday.
