The United States on Thursday said it discusses Kashmir with both Pakistan and India and believes the decades-old should be resolved between the two South Asian neighbors with active particiaption of Kashmiri people.We understand the importance of the Kashmir issue to both Pakistan and India, and it is something that we do discuss with both countries, Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs P.J. Crowley said at the daily briefing.But obviously, at the end of a process that has to be something that is resolved ultimately between Pakistan and India with the active involvement of the people of Kashmir, he added. Crowley spoke in response to a question in the context of President Asif Ali Zardaris emphasis on resolution of the Kashmir dispute for regional stability. The spokesman praised the article, saying I thought it was a fine op-ed. Earlier, this week top U.S. military officer Admiral Mike Mullen said Kashmir was a principal concern which Pakistan and India will have to decide for long-term security.
