Four security personnel injured in Swat

SWAT - Amidst declaration of ceasefire between the NWFP government and alleged militants headed by Maulana Fazalullah Mehsud, a high intensity suicide explosion occurred here at Mingora on late Friday night, injuring four personnel of the security forces near Mingora Police Station. According to details, a bomber hit the nearby shops with his explosive laden car, ostensibly targeting the police station.     "The target was Mingora Police Station," remarked a high-ranking police officer. He also informed that the injured personnel, included two police officials, Nazir Ali and Hussain, and two Frontier Constabulary officials, Yonus and Rustam, were shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital where their conditions has been reported to be stable. The explosion was so severe that the body of the suicide bomber blew into pieces. The eyewitnesses informed that suicide bomber drove his explosive-loaded motorcar towards the police station. However, the personnel of the security forces started firing at him and in confusion he rammed into the shops. Meanwhile, Maulana Fazalullah, the leader of the alleged militants, through his illegally installed FM Radio channel, has endorsed the ceasefire. He directed all of his followers and supporters not to attack government installations and personnel of the security forces.
