MARDAN At least eleven militants and one security forces jawan were killed in clashes between security forces and suspected militants during in a search operation in rural area of Mardan in the last 48 hours, sources informed. Security forces have started search operation in Katlung area early in the morning on Monday. Sources said that on Monday night, the search operation was further extended to the Bakhsali, Rustam, and Sawalder areas and security forces arrested several suspected militants in search operation in these areas from the mountains, including Kashmir cave. Sources said that ten militants and a security forces jawan were killed in clashes between security forces and suspected militants. Sources told that two militants belong to local Taliban group commanded by Hibibur Rehman while the other eight were non-local. The names of dead militants could not be ascertained. Sources added that security forces also arrested several suspected militants. They said the names of those held could not be ascertained and were shifted to an undisclosed location for investigation. Sources further added that the dead and arrested militants are of approximately twenty to twenty five years.
