Youth confesses to killing sisters for honour

LAHORE A youth, who had gunned down his two sisters and a cousin on Saturday night over their suspected illicit relations, has confessed to his crime in Sherakot police area on Sunday, police investigators said. The deceased were identified as Saba, 15, Munazza, 14, and their cousin Rafique. Sherakot in-charge investigation Mushtaq said the accused Akram has confessed that he killed his sisters and cousin on Saturday night. I suspected that my sisters were running illicit relations with my cousin so I killed them for honour, in-charge investigation quoted Akram as having said. A family, hailing from Pattoki, comprising one Muhammad Habib, his wife, two daughters Saba and Munazza and a son Akram along with Akrams cousin namely Rafique had been living at a rented house located near Tallat Park, Sherakot, for the last several months. On Saturday, Habib and his wife went to visit their relatives in Pattoki. On the same night, Akram gunned down his sisters and cousin on aforesaid charges and shot himself injured to mislead the police, posing the incident was a dacoity-cum-murders, said a senior police officer, adding minutes after the incident police shifted the bodies to the City morgue for autopsies whereas Akram was rushed to a nearby hospital for his medical treatment. After collecting necessary evidences, my investigators informed me the incident was an offshoot of old enmity or personal grudge of any family member, he said. He said as Akram has suffered a minor injury on his hand so this made him the chief suspect of the incident. On which he was taken into police custody for interrogation. Later, he confessed killing his relatives. Police lodged an FIR under Section 302 against the criminal.
