TEHRIK-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has threatened to unleash a wave of suicide attacks across the country if the Government of Pakistan does not review its policies. Talking to BBC on Saturday, TTP leader Qari Hussain Mehsud, who is known as the mentor of suicide bombers, challenged the government to stop them from launching more attacks in the country. Qari, also a cousin of TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud, claimed responsibility for Fridays attacks on ISI office in Peshawar and a police station in Bannu. We targeted the ISI office because the intelligence agency has a say in government policies, he added. He said the attacks were in reaction to the military operation in Waziristan and the cooperation, which Pakistan was extending to the so-called US war on terror. Responding to a question about the fighting in South Waziristan, Qari said Taliban had cleared many areas under a well-thought-out strategy. The strategy is aimed at to maintain our strength of fighters and save the weapons, he added. He said Taliban had initiated guerrilla fight in South Waziristan and they will intensify it in the days to come.
