Imran starts 'Jaag Utho Campaign for voters

LAHORE - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, Imran Khan on the inauguration of 'Jaag Utho Voter Registration Campaign has stated that this campaign is an awareness drive among the voters of Pakistan to register themselves as valid voters and verify if the vote is registered on the right address and location. Addressing the party leaders and workers on Wednesday, he said that the government had claimed that the Election Commission would send teams at every house from August 22nd to September 30th for verifying and registering voters, however, this drive has not started as yet. He said that a large number of new voters were still waiting for these teams to come to their houses and register them for providing them an opportunity to use their right of adult franchise in the next elections. Imran claimed that the govt was afraid of the new voters, as they would vote for PTI and the govt is deliberately not showing interest in the campaign. He said that the PTI has launched 'Jaag Utho Voter Registration Campaign to counter the conspiracies of the government against his party. PTI chief said that 'Jaag Utho teams would go house to house to create awareness among the new voters about how to register their vote if the ECP teams do not visit them. Imran said that the same teams would also visit colleges and universities to create awareness among students about the importance of the vote. He said that the country would experience a revolutionary change in the next polls if the new voters register themselves as voters and vote for change. He stated that Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif take frequent tours of London and he would write a letter to the owners of famous designers and shopping malls to set up their franchises in Pakistan in order to provide an opportunity to the 'Mughal Emperors of the country for shopping in the country instead of Britain. He said that the time for befooling people by PPP and PML-N is over and the masses would take them out of power in the next polls. He said that the PML-N governments love for the people has been exposed by the recent deadly wave of dengue virus, while the floods in Sindh has exposed the PPP leadership. PTI leaders, Ahsan Rasheed, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, Andleeb Abbas, Umer Cheema, Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Ishtiaq Malik, Ijaz Chaudhry, Shahid Zulfikar were also present on this occasion.
