QUETTA At least seven people were killed and three others wounded as a result of firing in Soraab area of Kalat district, some 160 kilometres on southeast of Quetta on Tuesday. According to reports reaching here, some private guards of a tribal notable Mir Meharullah Khan Zehri were traveling towards Soraab from Anjeera. As they reached at Naghar area unidentified armed assailants opened indiscriminate firing on their vehicle and managed to flee the scene. As a result, six people including Aziz, Muhammad Noor and his son Muhammad Khan received fatal bullet wounds and died on the spot and a passer-by whose name could not be ascertained also received bullets and died. Three other people also sustained injuries in the firing incident. On getting information, heavy contingent of police rushed to site and cordoned off the area to avoid further clashes. Officials sources said that motive behind the killing could be an incident of old enmity. The sad incident sent a wave of panic and fear among the people of the area while the security was tightened in the area to meet any untoward situation.
