KHYBER AGENCY - A NATO container was torched by unknown armed persons after killing its driver and conductor in early hours on Friday here in Shahkas, tehsil Jamrud of Khyber Agency, official sources informed. The trailer-container carrying registration number P-0078 was parked outside a house after having delivered a NATO consignment in Afghanistan in Shahkas, sub-division Jamrud. In the wee hours of Friday, unknown armed persons appeared on the spot, killed the driver and conductor with a spray of bullets, and set the trailer-container on fire. The criminals managed to escape successfully after committing the crime. The deceased were identified as Ismail and Kamran hailing from Malagori. After being informed, the local administration officials rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area and collected evidence for investigation. The cause of the incident was stated to be an old enmity. It is pertinent to mention here that this was a recent occurrence after the resumption of NATO supply. APP adds: A driver of a container carrying supplies for NATO forces was killed while a cleaner sustained bullet injuries in an attack by armed men on RCD Highway near Kalat on Friday. According to Levis Force Kalat, two containers carrying logistics for ISAF forces stationed in Afghanistan were on way from Karachi when gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on them in Sailabi Pul area of Mangochar. Resultantly, the driver of a container identified as Atta Mohammad and cleaner Sher Mohammad sustained bullet wounds. Later, Atta Mohammad succumbed to his injuries near Mastung. The injured cleaner was shifted to Quetta for medical treatment. Four armed assailants riding on a motorbike intercepted the containers, sprinkled them with patrol, said the eyewitness, adding the gunmen opened indiscriminate firing and fled when the driver and cleaners offered resistance. It is 44th such attack in Balochistan on vehicles carrying logistics for UN led allied forces in Afghanistan. Levis force started investigation.
