CIA-linked co owns Pak LNG terminal at PQA

ISLAMABAD While media reports regarding lucrative LNG contracts awarded by Petroleum Ministry are the subject of heated discussion lately, another controversial contract which was approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet early this year paved way for the US notorious spying agency CIA in Pakistans economy after it has hijacked Pakistani security agencies by penetrating deep down their very roots. The particular contract for the setting up of the LNG terminal at Port Qasim Authority (PQA) in Karachi was awarded to a Dutch company 4Gas by the ECC with Shaukat Tarin in chair. TheNation credibly learnt from authentic sources that award of contract to 4Gas effectively means CIA running the terminal that will over the next 20 to 30 years, control the energy lifeline of Pakistan. The 4Gas is owned by Carlyle Group, which is a US based private equity firm. Numerous media reports published by American media have unveiled strong links between Carlyle Group and CIA. Spectrezine a US based publication has reported Carlyle holds ownership stakes in 164 companies and ranks as the eleventh largest defence contractor in the US further emphasises its pre-eminence within this web, and the somewhat disproportionate links to the intelligence services listed above is reflected in its ownership - via BDM International - of the CIA-front company, Vinnel Corp., which has been operating under contract in Saudi Arabia since 1975. Frank Carlucci is the Chairman of the Group who worked in CIA and later became National Security Advisor of the United States under George Bush. George Bush himself, being a former CIA Director has had direct association with Carlyle Group. The same Group also owns Booz Allen Hamilton. Booz Allen Hamilton is entirely linked to CIA. In another publication, Tim Shorrock from CorpWatch reported, In 2006, Booz Allen Hamilton, a privately held company based in McLean, Virginia, had a global staff of 18,000 and annual revenues of $3.7 billion. Its work for US government agencies accounts for more than 50 percent of its business. Notably Booz Allen is a key adviser and prime contractor to all of the major US intelligence agencies - the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), the National Security Agency (NSA), and - as well as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the National Counterterrorism Centre, the Department of Defence and most of the Pentagons combatant commands. The same publication also highlights the Booz Allen has more than 1000 former CIA intelligence officers on its payroll. Carlyle Group, which owns 4Gas who has been awarded the LNG terminal contract in Pakistan is headed by David Rubenstein. Rubenstein and Shaukat Aziz had meetings for Carlyle investments in Pakistan back in 2007. The writing is on the wall. The CIA would control Pakistans energy resources for decades to come. The links between Pervez Musharraf, Shaukat Aziz, 4Gas, Carlyle Group, CIA and present government are all there for anyone to see.
