At least 4 people were killed and 2 others were critically wounded on Wednesday in the third US missile strike in North Waziristan since Sunday. The residents said the aircraft fired two missiles into a militant compound in Tabi Tolkhel village, just five kilometres (three miles) from the border with the Afghan Province of Khost. The attack killed 4 people and wounded 2 others. Some reports suggested that the killed and wounded included foreign nationals as well. However, no official confirmation was immediately available. This was the third attack in the area since Sunday. Sources said it was a US drone strike targeting a compound belonging to a Taliban commander. More than 780 people have been killed in the US strikes in Pakistan since August 2008.
