QUETTA - The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Monday granted bail to Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) provincial President Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti and his 26 other companions. Shahzain Bugti, who is grandson of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was arrested by Frontier Corps on December 22nd last alongwith 26 other people on charges of recovery of heavy weapons from his cavalcade near Baleli check post. The counsel of Shahzain Bugti, Wishwa Noth Kohli had moved the BHC for their release on bail following rejection of their bail plea by District and Session Court Quetta. A single bench of BHC, Mr. Justice Muhammad Noor Miskanzai approved the application and order for the release of Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti and 26 others on submission of surety of Rs 500,000 each. Talking to newsmen, counsel of Shahzain Bugti said that after his release Shahzain Bugti would announce his next strategy about long march towards Dera Bugti. On Saturday, the Sessions Court extended the judicial remand of Shahzain Bugti and his 26 guards by 12 days. The court had reserved the judgment on Shahzain and 26 others bail plea on Thursday last. Their lawyers pleaded the case in the BHC for their release on bail after rejection of their plea by the district and sessions court.
