MULTAN (APP) - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Sunday said passage of 18th Constitutional Amendment was a big achievement, which would bring about a pleasant change in the country and national politics. He was addressing a big gathering of people at Qadirpur Raan where a number of people from Aheer clan announced joining the PPP. He said the provinces would get more powers and the development work would be speed up by virtue of the historic development. The minister said the PPP would continue to move forward with its vision of serving the people whether in power or in opposition. We will not leave the people alone and would always be with them, he added. He said an all-out effort was being made to resolve the water issue, saying it was vital for the survival of the countrys agriculture and livestock. He said the Pakistan Peoples Party was a party of the masses and it had rendered great sacrifices for the cause of democracy that paved way for its restoration in the country. He said the world and US President Barrack Hussain Obama had expressed confidence over Pakistans nuclear programme at the recently concluded nuclear safety summit in Washington. The Minister said the issue relating to release of Dr Aafia was also raised with the US officials during the recent visit and expressed hope she would soon return to the country.
