ISLAMABAD - President and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari Wednesday appointed Fauzia Wahab as new Information Secretary of the party. Fauzia would replace Sherry Rehman as PPP Information Secretary who resigned a week ago from the slot. Sources in the party disclosed that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had tried his level best but failed to convince Sherry not to step down and also failed to persuade her to rejoin the Cabinet. After consultations with senior leaders of the party, President Zardari decided to appoint MNA Fauzia as Secretary Information. Sources described that President had directed Fauzia Wahab to work for party image building and highlight the democratic posture of PPP, which was striving for the supremacy of democracy in the country in the light of roadmap given to it by Shaheed Benazir.
