Incompetent, inexperienced government defaming democracy: Nawaz

The Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) president Mian Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that the incompetent and inexperienced rulers were defaming the democracy in the country. Addressing a press conference in Sakrand after visiting different flood-hit areas in Sindh, the PML-N chief said that people of the country were suffering due to wrong decisions of the government which is responsible for defaming the democracy. He said he did not believe in any short-cut. "I would have been part of the government even now if the government worked for the welfare of the people," he said. The PML-N chief said that how the PPP-led government could act against corruption when the PML-Q and MQM are its coalition partners. He said that the thinking of incumbent government was not democratic, adding that PPP leadership was doing politics for power by crushing every principle of democracy. Nawaz Sharif said the government should honour and respect the decisions of the Supreme Court. He said that the PPP government did not hold productive consultation on appointment of chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB). He said that instead of rejection of the proposal regarding the NAB chairman's appointment by Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, President Asif Ali Zardari appointed the controversial person which is violation of the Supreme Court order. He said the government lacks morality. The PML-N leader said the criminals were roaming freely in Sindh, adding that the PPP government was responsible for the whole mess. He said the government was bent upon destroying all the institutions of the country. "Nothing was done to drain out flood water from low lying areas of Sindh," he lamented, and said that the provinces should stand together with Sindh in this hour of need. People of Punjab participated in relief work for flood affectees, he said. Nawaz Sharif announced to set up five filtration plants, five field hospitals and sending 807 relief goods filled trucks from Punjab for flood affected people of Sindh.
