Power shortfall reaches to 6000 MW

The power shortfall has reached to 6000 megawatt all over the country. The total power production is 12852 megawatt while power demand is 18747 megawatt. According to PEPCO spokesman 720-megawatt power is being supplied t o Karachi Electric Supply Company. At the time 5224-megawatt power is being acquired from Hydle sources, 1739 megawatt is being acquired from Thermal sources, 5636 megawatt being acquired from IPPs sources while 199 megawatt is being acquired from RPPs. The total power production is 12852 megawatt and power demand is 18747 megawatt. The loadshedding hours have been increased from four to eight hours in industrial areas, eight to ten hours in urban areas while ten to twelve hours in rural areas due to power shortfall.
