The flip-flop by Pakistan government with regard to the origin of the attackers of Mumbai terror strikes is due to lack of leadership, noted human rights activist Asma Jehangir said on Saturday. "The flip flop is there because there is no leadership," she told reporters in New Delhi when asked to comment on Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari backtracking on his remarks that non-state actor based in Pakistan were responsible for Mumbai attacks. "Leadership in Pakistan is not a political leadership. He has come there by virtue of default. What do you expect (from such a leader)?" he said on the sidelines of a conference. "Leadership is not something you can buy. It is something that comes from experience. And people who think they have answers for everything are the last persons to become leaders," she said. Jehangir said Pakistan should investigate the antecedents of the terrorists who attacked Mumbai. "What has come to the fore is that the youths who carried out attacks came from Pakistan. At least the parents of one person (Ajmal Iman Kasab) have said that. So, it is our responsibility to investigate," she said. "The investigation should not be for yourself (for India) but also for ourself," Jehangir said adding even Pakistan has been a victim terror attacks. Zardari had earlier admitted that the perpetrators of the Mumbai carnage could be 'non-state' actors of his country but later said there is still no "real evidence" that the terrorists came from his country.
