At least five people were killed in a U.S. drone strike launched Monday evening in North Waziristan. According to the details, the U.S. drone fired two missiles at a vehicle suspected to be carrying militants in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan. Two missiles fired by a U.S. drone aircraft struck a vehicle in Mirali town, about 24 km (15 miles) east of North Waziristan's main town of Miranshah, killing five militants, intelligence officials in the region said. There was no independent confirmation of the incident, and militant groups often dispute official accounts. Monday's strike is the 15th of its kind since November. Starting from this month, the U.S. drones have launched altogether 15 strikes in the same above-mentioned area, killing at least 76 people.
