In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, asking people to remain steadfast on the path of struggle, has said that India cannot crush Kashmiris' ongoing liberation movement by military might. According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC Chairman while addressing a big public gathering at Chinar Bagh in Handwara said, "We convey it to India that it can't crush us by force. Till last Kashmiri is alive, we will fight." He maintained that New Delhi was under pressure at global level to resolve the Kashmir dispute. The Mirwaiz said that India should repeal draconian laws, releases political prisoners and withdraws troops from occupied Kashmir to make atmosphere conducive for resolving the Kashmir dispute through talks. "We are not against talks but how can you engage in dialogue when teenagers like Wamiq Farooq and Zahid Farooq are killed. How can we engage in parleys when incidents like Shopian occur where two Kashmiri women are raped and murdered?" he said. The APHC Chairman emphasised that a talks process among Pakistan, India and Kashmiris was need of the hour to settle the lingering dispute. "The three parties to the dispute should come to the negotiating table for its resolution as per wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people to ensure peace and stability in the region. The Mirwaiz said, India talks of democracy but whenever APHC announces any programme, undeclared curfew is imposed in the occupied territory and Hurriyet leadership is placed under house arrest or in jails. The APHC Chairman stated that the Kashmiri people had rendered matchless sacrifices to secure their right to self-determination and these sacrifices would not be allowed to go waste. He paid rich tributes to prominent martyred Kashmiri liberation leaders, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone.
