Colonel among six troops dead in IED blast

PESHAWAR As many as six security personnel including a colonel were killed and two others got injured in a roadside bomb explosion in Upper Orakzai Agency on Friday. As per details, a convoy of forces was on its way towards Gheljo Tall area when it hit a roadside planted bomb near Yakh Kandao in Upper Orakzai Agency. As a result, six security men including a colonel were killed and two others injured in the incident. Those killed in the incident included Col Yousaf Khan, Hawaldar Habib Bangash, Sepoy Mohammad Khan, Hanifur Rehman and Mazhar Husssain. While two others Habib Afridi and Habib Khan got severe wounds. The injured were shifted to CMH Kohat for treatment. Besides, the targeted vehicle was also damaged completely. Soon after the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and kicked off search operation there. The search operation continued in the area till the filing of this report. No organisation has claimed responsibility of the blast.
